These past two weeks we’ve been trying some cool experiments. Here are some pictures to give you an idea of these activities.

One was the egg drop, during engineering class. The children built a device that allowed a chicken egg to survive the impact of dropping from various heights. In the process, they made a hypothesis about what they thought would happen to the egg and learned about inertia, motion, and gravity.

The other experiment was defying gravity. In this one, children experimented by spinning a marble inside a glass cup. They learned that the downward force of gravity is (temporarily) put on hold for a spinning marble. This was really fun, and they wanted to try it out over and over.
